Spanish Insignia Sample Board
I just received this wonderful Spanish insignia sample board from the early 1900's. The insignia depicted was in use under the reign of King Alfonso XIII until his abdication in 1931 and the formation of the new Republic. This insignia saw use through the Republic years except for the crowns which were removed from uniform and caps. This insignia continued to be used during the Spanish Civil War 1936-1939 by both sides of the conflict.
The board contains a nice variety of different size crowns, artillery insignia, Engineer insignia and Rank stars. When I first bought the board it was missing one star on the bottom right corner but when it arrived I discovered it was installed backwards on the reverse side so i carefully placed it back on the front.

Thank you, I agree. I plan on professionally mounting this behind glass with an engraved inscription.

That's a great item, I love the Rook shaped ones.
Also a good reference for Spanish Crowns.

It's a great idea, Aldo. I think there can be a fantastic display.

Rook #15 on the far right measures 6.5 cm tall. Not sure what that would be used on, too big for a cap I think. I'll keep looking for images.

It is the emblem of the Corps of "Ingenieros". Aldo: how is it translated into English?
-
same way, Corps of Engineers

I finally got around to mounting and framing this sample board. I also designed a nice descriptive plate. Hope you like it......
