Ok I just worked out its a Chinese Brass Zodiac Coin/Token.
Unsure of what is written on the raised part of the coin?
It is the Chinese celestial medal for being hung like a horse. Very rare in China.
I have seen one of these on the forum before, but can't seem to remember where.
my wife could translate if she is not mad at me today. You know women over the holidays.

Well my wife translated your medal for us. She is Chinese.
I will explain what we have here.
The first side is of a Buddha. On the left it says Buddha on the right it says protective.
Under it says name and a place for a name then date month and year.
The other side with the Horse, says cow and horse.
Now what it is for is beyond me. I think it is a Chinese good luck medal.
Hope this helps.

It may be worth a look into the Chinese Zodiak..as the Horse...has " Fire" element within...and this coming from my Asian wife also. May be a worth while look just for curiosity sake the translation of the year..may have some meaning for the Horse. Regards Larry
