Ade , you boy`s in convoy look an impressive sight , you could even be better equiped than the troops in Afganistan
cheers Al
what a great set of photos, thanks for sharing them, it puts the pickering war weekend to shame
top thread ade you guys do a good job!!
What can I say but it makes me want to go back again, Ade it also look like the weather was great while you were there, for this year commemorations. Also the Black and white aged photo's looks very realistic, the one of Garry and friends reminds me of a real Arnhem picture/ news real, were the troops have a similar relaxed almost causal stance, while passing a burnt out German staff car?.

Hi Guys, thanks for the comments.
One thing I have not really mentioned is the new re-vamped Airborne Museum. Well, I never even went in! I stood there for nearly 15 mins on Monday trying to pay, but the two guys behind the new open plan counter were more interested in selling over priced souvenirs to people or making phone calls! When they finally got around to us, the guy could not even use the card machine correctly, he tried 3 times, my Dutch friend even told him how to use it in Dutch and he still did it wrong, so the three of us walked out! I have heard some people just walked in without paying. All my friends who visited earlier in the week hated it. The museum, before the changes, had a lot of exhibits on display, but they still had a huge amount of stuff which never got displayed which was stored in the lower (no public access) cellar. Now the museum is bigger, they have less on display!
Hi Nige, I know the photo you mean. Our camp was directly opposite where General Kussin's staff car was shot up.
Cheers, Ade.
Outstanding thread Ade.
I bet some of the older locals watched you all with heavy hearts.

Hi Ade, this is only my third post on this site but I go to Arnhem every year since the 60th aniversary. My uncle fought over there and was captured but with a gent from 3 para he escaped. Unfortunately he was re-captured. I love what you guys do with the re-enactors. Keep up the good work. If your in Arnhem this year give me a shout. I thought I'd add a picture of my own.
Hi, thanks for the pic
Not sure if we are going this year as yet, but I will let you know if we do.
Cheers, Ade.
