So in what will probably be my penultimate thread on my trip to Russia (hope I am not boring you) I will focus on the treasures within the Central forces museum. To say the place is overwhelming is an understatement.
Firstly the front of the museum, Cadets posing on the T34 guarding the entrance and the main entry lobby.
Next is the flag that supposedly was the first to be hoisted above the Reichstag, The adler from the Reichskenzlei and captured German standards.
German awards, not sure about the authenticity of the PAB and the RK so please enlighten me.
Some of the exhibits, a famous female sniper (whose name I cannot at the moment recall) who kept the cartridge case when she made a kill, and some impressive soviet awards.
And finally a veteran of the battle for Moscow and a few photos of flags.
