    Cool Crete War Museum

    Hi all!!!

I would like to show you all a magnificent war Museum from the Battle of Crete! It is located at an isolted village in mt. Psiloritis. The village's name is Askifou in Chania region... It is near my village so i visit it a lot. At one time i had a lot pictures from the private museum but my hard disk died and i lost everything so i figured i can show you pictures from his poorly made web site.
Now for the story of the collection...

The village is near the Kourtaliotis cannyon from which the majority of the British forces escaped the island and as you can imagine a LOT of equipment was left behind there... During that time and after the war a man decided to collect as many things he could. His name was mr. Chatzidakis. The result was to have unique items of the 3rd Reich in his backyard! When he died his grandsons managed to exhibit everything in this house! Unfortunatelly they don't know how to preserve such things and some of them are left to rot exposed to the weather elements... Some of them bear writings on them from mr. Chatzidakis due to his attempt to label them!

    Enjoy...
