    Default D-Day..... My Musical Tribute!

    Hi all,

I want to share with you something a little different.

Some of you may know from the 'Other Hobbies' thread, that I'm also a guitarist, and was previously in a number of bands. Well in 2004, two days before the 60th aniversary of the Normandy landings, I wrote and recorded a tribute song to mark the commemorations.

Somehow, the only copy of the track was lost for years, and despite looking everywhere, I just couldn't find it!!! That was until a few months ago!! I was helping my sister clear her loft, and I found the disc in a carrier bag!

I decided to create a video, and upload it onto You Tube! I done everything on the track, vocals, backing vocals, and guitar. The drums were from a drum machine! I'm very proud of it, and hope you guys enjoy it too!

Here's the link to the video...

Cheers for the kind comments guys!

There's a bit of a funny story with this track too! I recorded it at my mates apartment on his digital recording studio. First I recorded the guitar, which was done in 2 or 3 takes. Secondly my mate added the drum beat, and once that was done it was ready to add the vocals.

No sooner had I put the headphones on, and started the play back of the track (ready to add the vocals) the bloody miserable sod downstairs started banging on the ceiling!!! It was one in the afternoon!!! Anyway, I had to record the vocals in one take, which was unbelievably difficult with Victor Meldrew downstairs pounding on the ruddy ceiling with his broom!!!! I mean he wasn't even in time with the beat of the track!

Regardless though, my mate done an excellent job editing the track, and we managed to get it finished!

As I say, I really am proud of it, and I do appreciate all your comments!

    Cheers,
    Lee
