Munich then and now

Article about: Hi everone, inspired by FB's recent thread showing SS honour guards in Munich, I thought I would show some pictures, including some of those same areas today, along with some other contempor

    And going back to the Konigsplatz area, this is the 19th century Glyptothek building, and the Fuhrerbau visible on the far right.

    I love these steel helmets incorporated into the window design of the Luftwaffe Regional HQ on Prinzregentenstrasse.

    Also on Prinzregentenstrasse is Hitlers residence. Hitler moved into the 2nd floor apartment in 1929 and it was his official private address for the rest of his life. Hitler's neice, Geli Raubal, shot herself here in 1931. From 1939, Hitler owned the whole building and an air raid shelter was installed in the basement.

    The building is now Police offices.
