Mussolini's bunker open to the public
Nice article on the BBC website this morning, a short video showing the interior of Benito Mussolini's recently opened unfinished bunker that he had built after visiting Adolf Hitler's bunkers during the war. The bunker was constructed under the foundations of the Mussolini family villa in Rome, which remains in beautiful condition. Circular corridors were constructed to aid durability in the event of a dircet hit from an Allied air raid, and the walls were 4 metres thick reinforced concrete. The dank bunker had been closed for many years due to dangerous subterranean gases, but has now opened for all to see.
Regards,
Carl
