My village in Germany 1945 and 2005

Article about: Weeze, Rheinland, Germany. The first picture was taken by British forces 1945 during the battle for Weeze. The second picture was taken in 2005 during a "War Walk", we are a small

    Sadly, the farmer was a collector as well. He wants to keep the boat, it came into his hands about the same time a Sherman tank crashed through his wall and almost ended up falling through the floor into the cellar!

    The tank barrel belongs to a different farm. I found that one land owner has an original DUKW in his barn.... we had to dance around it during a party, it really was in the way.

    I think the bombed out church in the second photo from Kleve could be (loosly guessing) the Stiftskirche. It is hard to say though as that area is covered in churches. Also, a lot of time pictures showing "Kleve" actually show villages in the Kreis Kleve, or those that surround Kleve, like Materborn, Donsbrueggen etc.

    If you went down to the woods in the Reichswald yesterday
    you would been involved in a battlefield tour and you would have met these people....
