Very early "home made" SED banner made by German POW's of Working Company 2769 in Egypt. They made this from materials at hand in the camp after deciding to want to be part of the new Political Party formed in East Germany. An interesting item I though. One never thinks that POW's of the British would have been interested in this?

The early East German Forces are shown here.
Uniforms were designed to reflect German military tradition despite the Communist Govt. Weapons were WW2 Soviet.

Mean while in West Germany we have a display to show the uniform worn by mine clearance volunteers and the new Federal Border Guards.
Weapons here are former Wehrmacht and US WW2 issue.

Uniforms of the new West German Bundeswehr. I will show a bit more detail as Steve has been patiently waiting for these
I was particually impressed with the swallow tail Artillery Standard.
The display boards show all the cap badges in both old and new forms, rank insignia, collar litzen, etc. Note the introduction dates written on them.
