Cool Pics : Panther Ausf. A at the Falaise Gap August 2014.

Well, it was a fairly wide detour on my vacation trip to Burgundy, but I was very pleased to arrive at a very sunny Mont Ormel Memorial after lunch on Saturday the 18th to find a fair-sized crowd of people and, yes, that Panther courtesy of the Saumur Museum........

Still a beautiful looking vehicle. Look at the size comparison with the sherman next to it - I would be pooping my pants going up against that baby, especially in open terrain.

But look at that barrel - size matters boys! I did see a Sherman near to a Tiger 2 (I think) at Bovington - now that was a frightening beast.

Nice restoration job Martin. The zimmerit looks great but I still think they are all missing the mark on the colours.
    Just too gaudy for mine.

You're not alone, Dan.....next morning at the Vimoutiers fair, Didier Lodieu asked if I'd seen the Panther. 'Of course, the colours are wrong' he said, rolling his eyes ' But still it's nice to see the tank....'

I always liked German Armor. Great Photos Martin.. I wish I had them setting in my back yard.
