Relics on Kiska

Article about: i cant believe that all the anti-aircraft/88's and that MINI SUB!! are still sitting there untouched. even the spent rifle rounds are usually picked through. i wonder if that is a zoned off

    Great pix, very bleak but beuatiful terrain which must have been frozen in deep snow during the battle, hence the use of tents rather than digging bunkers.

    I'm with you Thomas, how could they just let that midget sub sit out there and rot away. I can't believe someone wouldn't want it. What a miserable place to fight.

    Looks like it was pretty much intact when they left - the tent pegs still poking out,
    and the wood and canvas shelters collapsed into themselves.

    What was not left to rot has been scavenged or carried away by the wind........

    Very dangerous... lots of like ordinance still lying about just where it was left. Very remote so little has been done to clean it up.
