small Spanish road trip

Hi, as always extremely busy but this time i managed to find the time (1day) for a little road trip.
Good weather and good roads.
The destination was the province of Salamanca, Spain.
Been on to a couple of castles and fortresses and took a lot of photos.
I have arrived today from the beautiful fortress city of Ciudad Rodrigo.
It was the stage of one of the fierce battles between British troops and Napoleons army.
Parts of the wall and the church still bear marks of that.
Its amazing and by the end of this week i will have the photos uploaded.

The real fuerte of Concepcion was one the fortresses visited.

And of course the amazing fortress city of Almeida.
I have been wanting to go there for several years. This is where the trip began, right next to the Spanish border.
I have a lot of work these next few days so you will have to wait for the photos.

Was there any evidence visible of the explosion of the magazine that caused the fall to Marshall Ney? It must have been a awe inspiring scene during the great siege.
