The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

    1st July 1916

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Superb work Carlo3. Do you have any 'then and now' photographs of Serre, Oppy/Gavrelle, Richebourg, La Croix Barbet. Hebuterne... Please send a PM if you can help with any of these locations and would like to see any of your work in a forthcoming book.

    Cheers,
    Steve.

Touching, thought provoking, sentimental? I really can't find the right feeling to put into words. Kinda odd to not know what I'm feeling
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

Excellent work and a very clever concept. I have seen similar but nothing as well executed as this.

Steve mentioned a book. Sounds like a good idea but I think I see definate commercial potential here whether it be a book, print series or "one of a kind" commisions. If nobody else has done it I reckon you should secure this concept as yours now!

I look forward to seeing more of your work, maybe more WWII?

Oh yeah, and welcome to the forum!
