    It's mind numbing to think of the Labor and the time and sweat and blood that went into these fortifications- the Germans themselves were so impressed by it all that they issued Medals for helping construct it all. And what was it's ultimate fate? Literally very little to nothing....if the fortifications were Too strong, they were generally went around and ignored. It reminds one of the famed Maginot Forts...
