Re: WWI Pompeii
Hello,
I found this link giving more info about the site, unfortunately it is only available in French. http://www.pair-archeologie.fr/fr/ac...-mondiale.html
Answering the two major questions : What would become of the bodies of the fallen? The French institution in charge of identifying the corpses of fallen soldiers is in charge of the case and try to identify the corpses, they will contact eventual Family members. The bodies will be then transferred to the Institution's German counterpart, the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge. What would become of this site? Because of its high historical value for Eropean modern History, the Site, in whole or in part, will be open in the future to a wider public. Any information related to this site will be also published and a documentary is under construction.
