Authentic unfinished RAD hewer or fake?Hi,

I recently bought this strange looking hewer.
I have compared it to an authentic hewer i own and
the size and shape of the hilt and blade is an exact match.

I also found this picture of an unfinished alloy hilt and it is very similar to mine.

The seller told me he's been told by a war vet that this hewer might have been
taken from the factory before it was issued.

I won't say I like it, but I do think it's an original piece....or rather pieces!

Thank you all for the feedback!

😃 I'm very happy to hear it seems to be authentic!

Thanks for the welcome Larry. I have no scabbard for this piece. Maybe it wasn't fitted
    with one before capture?

I have a friend who also has a Hörster without the RAD proofmark mon the blade, just like yours.
I will ask him for some pics, so that we can compare the two.

Ella i have contacted my friend but his RAD that also lacks the RADJ proofmark is a Höller, so pics are of no use.
