Yes but i've never seen one with what looks like an eagle at both ends of the handle and an oval in the middle with the remains of red enamel.

To begin with I too thought it could be an Italian fascist dagger.
But I am not convinced it is though, but it is my best guess.

It was found on the Isle of Wight. Allegedly it came from the site of a German ww2 plane crash, but I need to confirm that. It was found by a friend of a friend who is a keen metal detectorist. They had it marked in their display case as an SS dagger, which we know it's definitely not!
I too thought at first sight that it's not even german, but it does look like there is the remains of an eagle inset into the handle, or has the plastic handle just melted in an odd way?
