This is definitely not 3rd Reich era. However, a letter opener size copy of the dagger did exist. I at one time owned one with a small portopee that was in a cigar box full of a vet's souvenirs. I loved those cigar boxes as they always held something good along with the KVK2 with no ribbon and the black wound badges.
