Mercator pocket knife Waffen SS marking

Got this at a estate sale with some other items on the weekend and thought I would share .
German Mercator Knife with WAFFEN SS marking.

I am guessing its a Mercator with "added" stamping .

I believe you are correct.
These can still be bought brand new. War time ones have a few different details.
