Default Outstanding Full Set: My good old Teno Leader

    CONGRATS Manfred!

The TeNo Dagger & accoutrements are real beauties, like all of your outstanding collection [& your great photos show it so well].

    1) Is the Brown leather belt clip for the hanger original to the set? Do you know if the TeNo also use Black leather clips? [Not too many period photos for trying to make a comparison, unfortunately]

    2) I'm pretty sure that the blade & scabbard Numbers match - or you wouldn't have snagged it. I'm trying to keep a Database of TeNo #'s - just for my own collecting interest. What's the # on yours? Is the blade # hand stamped - or - is it etched to the blade?

Attached is a great Robert Noss TeNo Dagger photo, posted elsewhere. Can't see the upper leather connector unfortunately. I can NEVER see too many TeNo Daggers or Hewers (!)

    Dave,

The belt loop is not original to the set. I have seen brown as well as black loops go with Teno sets and I believe that it didn't matter since they are hidden under the tunic anyway. They were merely functional for attaching the hanger.

The numbers on the blade and on the scabbard throat match on both my Teno Leader and the EM hewer, and in both cases the numbers are etched on the blade and spamped on the scabbard throat. The number are 3486 for the Leader and and 6399 for the hewer.

Outstanding TeNo. I too noticed the belt loop & dig it. Not a commonly seen accouterment at all & it just finishes the look.
