As far as I know, "B&A" purchased a larger amount of parts for daggers, remaining after the end of their production 1942nd in Solingen.
It is possible that they themselves produce some parts.
Basically, at that time, it was very popular to sell souvenirs Western soldiers.
I know that some collectors consider these daggers "original", but for me the is postwar Frankenstein.

Absolutely!!.....some of it may be original...but one thing for sure,, it was never issued as a whole dagger to a German Soldier or Officer.

    Spain copy of Herr dagger.
Not a very good copy, but can often deceive inexperienced collectors.

I would certainly feel less bad about a dagger made of original parts than one faked outright.

I do not consider a dagger cobbled together from war time parts for a fake per se.

Agreed Scout...not fake but not a original whole dagger none the less.

Postwar Herr dagger Clemen&Jung, with Damascus blade.
Blade is a complete reproduction, and parts of the daggers are mixed.

Clemen&Jung was has never produced Damascus blade, especially etched with gold letters, during TR. (they were not a big company in these time.)
To my knowledge, they are entered into the business after WW2, in order to sell souvenirs U.S. soldiers. but in this story I'm not 100% sure, (maybe this is a copy of the Modern Age), but the same story exists with Naval daggers, produced by Clemen&Jung, after WW2.

So not your run of the mill fake then. As its so close to getting it right and as some obvious effort went into it, does anybody know from whence these originated?

Complete replica of first the L.W. dagger.

Swastika on cross guard and pommel look "soft", there are no sharp lines.
Blade tip is "short" and scabbard band are irregular.
In addition, the dagger is 100% mint, no trace "aluminum yellow dust" and swastikas were completely preserved gold finish.
