Police Sword Real or Fake
got this today and just wanna get shure that it is a real one,
and dose someone of you have a picture of a police sword in use or wear, and one more question is it real that this version of swords was used by the ss as well (the seller told me).

It is original. Sorry I don't have a photo to hand.

They were not used by the SS per se: but they could be worn by Policemen who had dual SS membership. The SS thing is really a sales pitch by sellers these days.

Hi Klinger, thought I'd give you alittle extra info. I have a Heer sword but not that up on them. Your's is a Carl Eickhorn / Solingen with the Eickhorn Squirrel Trademark. The Squirrel trademark is suppose to mean that your sword was manufactured between 1935 and 1941. I love that police emblem.

There were SS swords of an almost identical design,
but with a runic disc in place of the police emblem.

As mentioned your polizei degen is good. It's an NCO pattern, obviously by Eickhorn.

With respect to periodically seen sigrunes, it's more of an SS inspection stamp.....

Appears to be a nice degen. It appears some of the fittings were cleaned at some point...which is not a problem since it appears to have been done safely.

As far as repro police degens go, I don't recall ever seeing reproduction police NCO degens ever. That's not to say they don't exist, I just have never seen one in my years as a saber collector.
