A Colloquial word some use in certain parts of the US...."Yo Dude" or "Hey Dude"....as a greeting to other Guys.

I gave it to the forum as my user name because it has a WWI association with Holland and the British Royal Navy. In 1914, to strictly preserve their neutrality and avoid giving Germany an excuse to invade, the Dutch interned all and any beligerents on their soil at the outbreak of war. They made the RN personnel very welcome during the four years of their internment and it has not been forgotten, hence "Gastvrijheid". At age 76 years I am, alas, no longer the cool dude I once was!Larry in Dutch your reply is funny
