Looks good to me, shame the scabbard is missing though.

'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.
Last Entry - For God's sake look after our people.'
In memory of Capt. Robert Falcon Scott, Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans. South Pole Expedition, 30th March 1912.
Yes it looks like a good original. They get lonely without a scabbard I hear!!!

I like it, but as has been said, poor thing needs a scabbard!
"Per Ardua"
I agree, it is a shame that the scabbard is missing, I will ask the person I bought off, he had a lot of stuff and all the things were mixed up in a big "pile", so I will see.

I've known that the only maker to use these numbers on the blade was Carl Julius Krebs. However, I read the other day that the numbers were not inventory numbers but the month & year of manufacture. Based on this, I suspect the number is 1237 for December, 1937.
Great Hewer , One of my first I had for a while when I was just a kid, till the other kids dad found out he traded it to me. LOL
