This is owned by a friend of mine. He also has a replica (ie, fake one). Any idea of the value of both an original and replica SG42?

I cannot advise on prices for fakes/replicas. But I saw an original advertised yesterday at 5000 Euros.
Cheers, Ade.
This bayonet is now listed on Ebay. Not mine, but I'll be curious to see if it hits the reserve the seller has placed on it.

I am not expert on this but the pictured piece have reblued blade, which is not correct, and there are cracks on grips near rivets, so it could be replacements, hard to say, but it must be detailed pictures of stamps on blade to have a 50% possibility of real or repro. best regards,Andy

Andy, thx for info
but I found this photo on net and it looks like a fake, maybe its wrong
This is a real one. I have one my father brought home from the western front. He was an officer in the 743rd Tank Battalion. US Army. Went from D-day to the Elbe River and survived.
Is it a bayo or survival knife? either way it has all the comforts of home inside the grip.
