hi wehrmachtsman , collectors have differing opinions on this subject , and choices probably have to be made depending on the condition of the dagger . it can be from doing absolutely nothing and storing in a case , to applying a light coating of machine oil , to the application of renwax ( rennaisance wax ). on the plus side the last option effectively seals the blade from atmospheric oxidation , but on the minus side if there is already light age damage , this will be sealed in and will carry on . it`s a personal choice

    cheers al

    Hi Wehrmachtsman

I also keep them in the scabbard, use no oil or wax and I display them in a class cabinet...

    Hi Wehrmachtsman

The first model Luftwaffe dagger seems to be in good condition, where did you get it?
