hi wehrmachtsman , collectors have differing opinions on this subject , and choices probably have to be made depending on the condition of the dagger . it can be from doing absolutely nothing and storing in a case , to applying a light coating of machine oil , to the application of renwax ( rennaisance wax ). on the plus side the last option effectively seals the blade from atmospheric oxidation , but on the minus side if there is already light age damage , this will be sealed in and will carry on . it`s a personal choice

hello al
thanks for your reaction
i normally juse ballistol kleber german weapon oil that also can be jused on leather wood and other materials and vaseline spray
but what i really wanna know is what is the best for the blade
in scabbard or out during the metal strip inside that coses light damadge when pulled out i am not new to daggers collecting but i never tough houwe and what the best is for storage

Hi Wehrmachtsman
I also keep them in the scabbard, use no oil or wax and I display them in a class cabinet...
