No its replica sorry.
I like the dagger. I think this is a good early hewer. Have the number on blade? In the photo the number is difficult to see.
TN number "1831" belongs to an officer dagger; item #27787 recently offered on the JRB&M sales site. I maintain a TN database, numbers run concurrently with officer daggers and EM hewers in a single series. So, as Matty says - sorry, your hewer is a fake for sure.
The number 1831 is etched to the throat which is not often seen. My database has over 300 entries to date with only one throat having an etched number, 1904 - an original posted to WRF by member Hal. If you are correct Den, then the TN issue number series has duplicated 1831 on an oficer dagger and an EM hewer. As you say, we need to see the blade number on this hewer.
Number of blade is "18...". Number is badly visible.
Is the etched throat number definitely original? I thought these were always stamped on throat.
Is there a number on blade?
best matty
I also have their own base TENO numbers, but do not know why you told about the numbers on dagers TENO Leaders. These are completely different edged weapons with Idividualny especially drawing numbers on the blade and scabbard. I'm sure scabbard is original with original numbers etching. The hewer is my opinions is original but we need see number on blade. I think number is very light.
For example ## 1802 and 1855. #1855 very very light, but I think we can trust Paul Hogl about etching number on throat. TN used different method indicated numbers on throat - stamp, etching and etching with stamp. And has different digit stamp for it, but one specimen for etching. Sorry for my bad English.
