    It’s certainly favourable to have matching numbers...
    I think you need to take a few more detailed pictures close up ( like Rossi’s ) before a true appraisal can be done.
    The Manufacturers mark Eickhorn looks abit blurred from the picture.

    Look a the previous posts for TeNo Mann’s Hewer on the Forums ... there’s lots a good detailed pictures to compare yours with.

    Could you make pictures scabbard throat on differents angles. Some etched numbers was barely visible.

    The Scabbard throat from den70 is marked 1831, and the opening for the blade is completely different shape to s1966’s one!
    Not sure what den70 is !!

    You totally correct, hole have wrong shape. I show one of sample etching number on throat. In period used same method. The one more sample.

    first thank you for your help. I'm not sure I should really buy it. the sheath does not bother me, but as long as it is original I could live with it
