so, still just the three of us then?...perhaps it would help if I say don't fret, I'm not suggesting that we meet up and socialise....after all, we're not Americans! :-)

Hopefully there'll be three of us squeezed into one car, so that's enough for a party.....
...surely you can put one of them in a trailer??....there's a bloke in the Forum who keeps banging on about an old trolley he's doing up.....hitch it up, sit him in, give him a blanket and hit the M1 !
Brilliant!!
Well, another very pleasant morning at Stoneleigh....
Although we felt - again - that there were less 'exciting' items this year we arrived early and enjoyed a relaxed, jostle-free stroll around the stalls. Good to chat with stallholders and fellow enthusiasts ; even the shy and retiring Composite !
A lot of deacts on display but the really tempting stuff was very expensive ( like £3000+ for an MP40... ). 'Granatwerfer' spotted the 2nd-type Wehrmacht infantry trailer shown generating considerable interest in the pics below . Unsympathetically-restored, it was on offer at £2500. At the other end of the spectrum - Bren magazines, 6-for-a-tenner.....
GW scored a very nice KwK40 steel transit case with good paint and clear markings at a very keen price. As for me, a very modest morning with only a very relic fragment of Y-strap found in the Ardennes ( so fitting my collecting theme ). Eagle-eyed expert that I am ( ) , I didn't see the maker stamp until I got home ( Carl Budischowsky, Wien, 1941 ).
Here's a few pics to give a flavour.....
( British - or so I'm informed, irish - helmets pic included as a nod to Composite... )
Nice little picking trip it seems mate. I would’ve gone too but only just got back into collecting and the financial capabilities in such short notice would not allow (my own fault considering I didn’t even realise it was on until Thursday night!)
I may well be at Newark in April if any of you gents are going to that? I haven’t been since it’s expanded into 2 rooms, I only remember it when it was just the one a couple of years back.
Thanks HG....someone else mentioned Newark yesterday & I picked up a flyer for the event which is on April 19th. I've never been and sadly the date may clash with a family commitment for me....
Looks like a nice selection of gear there. Are those Tiger I track links in the first picture? Any idea what they were going for?
D&B also appear to be selling a lot of deacts on their stall that are listed on their website as being 'UK spec, for non-EU sales only'. Seems the new legislation isn't being enforced too stringently. That, or they're 'for display only'.
B.B.
The last time I went to Newark it was only the one hall rather than 2, so April should be decent as I've never been since it's been expanded. When it was just one room it was good, I wouldn't say come from faraway areas for it, but if you're roughly an hour and a half away I'd definitely say its worth a look, even more so now they've doubled it's size. Message me closer to the time if the family commitment is on another date as I'll meet you there if you fancy.
