hi finnlander ,i agree with the other members who have confirmed this as a postwar ssh40 going by the paint colour liner pads and also the colour of the chinstrap i would guess at maybe a mid fifties production ,i would pass purely because of the star it will probably damage the paintwork on removal ,its up to you though and for 20 euro it wont break the bank ,hope this helps ,james
