This is short lived 1922 model abolished in 1924. Introduced by RVSR order Number 322 as summer headgear for entire Red Army it also had limited use of winter version by top commanding personnel.

Hammer and plow rather than hammer and sickel ?

I'm not familiar with this badge. Can anyone help.

Most of the budyenovki we see in North America were made for the 50th anniversary (1967) when, it seems, most of the Soviet Army dressed up like Civil War men.

    Cheers,

    PG

Hi PG, the hammer & plough was the early Soviet cap badge and came before the well known hammer & sickle design.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Thanks, Ade.

It had me thinking about the plough and the stars of the Irish Citizen Army, but they didn't wear budyenovki.

    Cheers,

    Pat

    Hi,
The 2 budenovka in photos are copies of the model 19 and 22, either at the material of the cap, making the inside, stole ,..... sorry.

Do not overestimate them. They both are just generic tourist's souvenirs and not resembling any particular models.
