Article about: I have owned this one for a while, and always thought of it as 1950s issue - with uncertainty... I would appreciate any and all opinions. Also, the 357 signifies what?

    This is exact M47 pattern, and looks like this one, one of the first was producted. Oficially this is M47, but I have seen one original -dated 1946 year

    When was this model superceded to a new one?

    Also, I am still curious as to what the 357 is for on the front horizontal pad.

    I think you have a very nice early war time canvas helmet, the next generation after the leather one!

    The tank number, to find your's after the dinner or something like that
    This was normally introduced in the end of 50's. In use till the end of 1960's.

    Just to clarify this Dimas; Mine is a late 40s version or 50s? And this variant was used until the 1960s?

    Very hard to tell you the year of production, but what says the stamp? It's can be early one, but can be worn through a while

    I guess one will never know - There is no stamp to see...
