confused on russian helmets

Article about: Hi all,ive jus bought what was described as a russian 1945 helmet,its ssch 40 shape,no ink stamping but impressed on rear inner lip is 2 31 45 and a star impressed on inside of front lip,it

    No worries James, that's what this place is about and how I keep learning, I try and research things as best I can and usually pretty confident with my final conclusions but have learned, on more than one occasion, that what I though we had was something else....so I am always watching and learning.

    No, there are no other rivets on the shell and the three that are there are being used to hold the liner in place.
