I was sure that some winter stuff soviet made was "captured" by Germans.
It certainly was: orders went out that captured Soviet Ushankas were not to be worn at home on leave.

Whoever captured this sure took good care of it, If I recall correctly, the seller I bought this from acquired it in Germany so i'd bet it's a vet bringback.
I read on here Samoilova was in Leningrad region, I wonder if it was captured on that front? Can only guess
Cut from a trapezoid I assume? I used to own one with metal insignia - Heer eagle and the cockarde less the wreath.
