    I think it's probably the Ssh68 judging by the less flared shape on the sides, the Ssh 40 should have more curves or slightly more flared out

    but the visor looks longer more like the Ssh60

    what time frame / years did the Russians stop manufacturing the Ssh60?

    do you know if they were still making the Ssh60 after the Vietnam war? or post 1975

    Hi,
    I do not know the end date of production of Ssh 60, some helmets are dated, some not.
    This helmet is dated 69, the second is not marked .

    the Ssh60 helmet will be manufactured into the 70's, along with the production of helmets Ssh 68, mainly in the factory "Krasnye Oktyabr" (Red October) in Volgograd, formerly Stalingrad, and is still used today as evidenced Russian intervention in Georgia in August 2008.

    good info! they say the Ssh60 helmets were still produced into the 1970's along with the Ssh68

    I would guess they stopped sometime in the mid 1970's maybe a little later

    can i ask was the ssch 60 manufactured from old ssch 40 shells or was it a seperate design in the style of the 40

    I think they used the new production shells to make the Ssh60

    most Ssh60 helmets Ive seen all have four high rivets like the one in the first post

    if they used old Ssh40's they would have an additional four lower rivets from the old style liner system
