Newbi needs help! Russian model SSh39??
Hi i have recently bought this Russian helmet model SSh39 but in the liner theres 2 buttons that have Czechoslovakia on them and it has 3 of those rivet things i forget what there called!! Is this helmet Russian? Czech reissue? and its value? And any info about this type of helmet?? - nick k

The liner appears to be a Czech M-53 liner.

Hi Nick, it is pure Czech. Therse are still fairly common and cheap to buy. But are still good original helmets.

czech m53.. but it´s an older version (maybe 50's), because of the leather chinstraps, the last and more modern version of this helmet had Y shaped green chinstraps, i think made out of nylon.. I jut got the same as yours and it´s cool, part of cold war history...
