Possibly Soviet Helmet in Need of Identification? Does anybody know what this is? :)

Article about: IMO it could actually be a WW2 Chinstrap. It looks like the ZKO standard WW2 one. What color are the stitching on the CS? Regards, Lars

    The stitching is this colour (pictured). Is that the stitching that you were referring to? . Also. Im confused. Did they sometimes put ww2 Chin straps on post ww2 helmets? :P

    Green thread is post war production. IMO you got a good helmet there

    I would not be surprised if they used WW2 CS on post war helmets. Resources would most likely have been limited 7-8 yrs after the war. I don't know if they did this.

    Thanks so much Lars your knowledge is invaluable . Do you have any idea of its worth? I bought it from a car boot sale foe £3 about 2 years ago. It would be interesting to know its real value.

    I picked one up from a street trader in Berlin a couple of years ago, same factory as yours but dated a year later, i think i paid 25 or 30 euros!...
