Thanks Gunny they were riveted straps up to that point if I am correct and changed again with the Ssh-60 If I am not mistaken.

Last year of production, we often find these helmets in mint condition , unissued . Sometimes with the wrapping paper
The size ( 1/2 or 3 ) is specified in the stamp .

Thank you Dom I was not positive if it was the single numeral 1 printed by it self or the P-1 that indicated the helmet size .

Thanks Gary I have a Ssh-60 as well and will get around to posting it up soon they are such an Iconic and we'll known piece of headgear and a must for anyone that collects tin lids from around the world.
As to my back yard these pictures were taken at my house in the North I live right on the job site 30 second walk to work in the morning .
We have a large acreage on the Island and live on my wife's families Dairy Farm.

Very nice example in mint condition Mark,1960 must of been right on the change with the introduction of the ssh60,cheap lids that display well.......
