Hi Paul, in this case I cannot give any opinions on originality, as I have never handled a real one.
But it is a Commanders field cap. These were a popular item of headgear being more subdued than the usual coloured piped Furashka.
I like the look of it even if it turns out to be fake and it would be great for wear at our LH events.
