Hello, just got this 41 dated officers field cap. Its from a reputable dealer and seems great to me but as I'm new to Soviet uniform I thought I would get further opinions from my esteemed forum colleagues. Many thanks, Doug

Hi ,
Already seen this cap, but I can not remember or ?
Please you have a photo of the inside of the headband
Thanks for your response.
I have seen this before also. I am not a big fan of the liner nor the stamp. Also, the sweatband seems to be artificially distressed and the star is postwar - but again, I am far from an expert.

Same opinion as Richie, for me the stamp is a fake
M47 star I believe.
Thanks for the comments. I am very surprised as this has come from The Collectors Guild and I have had good items from them in the past.

Its a Soviet piece, not German. So, for me there is no doubt Peter was simply going by what the consignor has told him.

Ok. Can anyone help me with telling the difference between wartime and post war caps stars? Many thanks.
I have been trying to compile something for a long time, but I can never seem to find the time. Mike has been on me lately, so I promise I'll put something general together and have it up by the weekend. I work seven days per week and I have a lousy internet connection, so kindly bear with me.
