I am very grateful for the help.
I am very grateful for the help.
And here I am again.
Question is still to understand the difference between a wartime, single piece star and this one everyone is calling M1947.
I'll show ya Mike. Hang tight....
Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam!
regarding Collector's Guild. i have seen several toned Heer helmets sold as Kriegsmarine on that site. i don't think it was to deceive, it's just what the consignors say they are. bottom line, like anywhere else, you need to know what you are buying on that site.
Thanks everyone. I have had a helpful response from Peter at the Collectors Guild and will be getting a refund.
Historically, I would expect no less from Peter.
In my humble opinion the cap is OK, not faked.
Only I think -because of cotton fabric and liner- that it is post war. Fabric looks like the one on faded gymnasterkas from the fifities / early sixties.
These field caps were manufactured for civilian use well after the war finished.
Some dealer in Russia or Europe <<militarized>> it by the addition of the star; not necessarily with bad faith.
I don't like the stamp though.
Good morning,
for me the hat is fake.
the fabric looks like after '70 ...maybe used in a war movie?
On site "Collector's Guild"
I found this pilotka
The Collector's Guild
sold as ww2...
