The interior is quite unusual.
(Was found in Afghanistan with a bullet hole in it).

Looks like it has a East German chin strap.

But why so many D-rings to fit the chinstrap? Not common, is'nt it?

The middle D rings are the originals (for a simple two piece strap). The helmet was upgraded at some point with a new liner with a more modern harness. The actual shell could even date to the 1940s. What's on the ink stamp on the back inside rim?
