Ssh40 and like Ss40

hello,

I read some article on the net about the Ssh40, and satellite versions of the Warsaw Pact. A short summary seems useful to be initiated like me

The Hungarian M50 :

SSh40 shape : cloth liner and leather shinstrap.



The Roumanian M40 :

Since 1948, Romania receives SSH40 Russian. And later only empty shells. The liners are manufactured on site.
The Romanian liners are moleskine like Russianbut mainly brown color and sometimes gray.



the shinstrap is the same like the russian (rivet's model until 1954), but until 1973 !



The markings are the same as Soviet, but sometimes the next batch number has a letter size




It seem to me, that i have see some of theyr in indentification.

Both helmets are 100% Soviet , same factory 3K0 .

No the shell is 100 % soviet, the shine strap and the liner are roumanians !!!

No the shell is 100 % soviet, the shine strap and the liner are roumanians !!!

Romanians helmets were not Soviet marking . The liner is not smooth, it has patterns that do not exist on their Romanians counterparts . Chinstraps rivets are painted , it is clearly visible.

Both helmets completely of Soviet manufacture.
