I'm not a big spec in helmets, but isn't it strange model 39 in 1941? SSh-40 was out for a year or so
I am not too sure what you are saying my friend. Please elaborate further on this. I am not a "expert" myself. But now i have them.
Do you see the 3 rivets? Those are model form 1939, my friend. In really short time scale they were enhanced to 6 rivers SSh40, model 1940. So there is a very little chance that in 1941 those were still in production.
The first one has a later model liner, if I'm correct. No idea when these where phased out of production.

Hey guys. Please fill me in if there is anything strange here. I bought this from a trusted dealer whom i know. It's stated both lids is 1941. I am quite sure the liner in Lid #1 is a replacement. The rivet is blank. All info is appreciated.
Hi Lars, did you buy lid No.1 as restored? Paint and ink stamp, etc are not original. Not a big fan of the liner or chinstrap either to be honest.
Cheers, Ade.

No i did not, and when i saw it i figured out from the blank/shiny rivets that the liner must have been replaced at some time. I am not a USSR helmet or liner specialist at all. I just know that the helmets is stated to be from 1941. As far as i have learned now, they should be earlier models. The No.1 helmet should have been repainted during WW2. The paint looks too new for that i think. It should be a model NL-40.
The No.2 helmet should be a rare model because of the red star. Liner and helmet is original to each other IMO. Absolutely. No traces of replacement or new/several layers of paint.
The new painting and liner could be from 50-60s revoke. I'm in doubt of the 1941 production, still.
The star is a strange one for helmet Will try to look for some photos of 39s
Hi ,
The Ssh 39 is produced from 1939 to 1941.
I agree with Ade the first helmet is completely fake
