No it doesn't miss a part, I copied the last piece of the post from steve.

Haha, no Appie doesn't mean monkey in Dutch, its just a nickname short for Albert. You will find that often here, maybe to many Alberts in France?
In Dutch, and I do speak a fair bit of Dutch, monkey is aap, or aapje.

BTW; I think I'm going to do some detecting this morning, its will be nice weather here today, and I found a new site in a village just over the mountain.

It realy happend to me; last year and mate gave me some rubber boots because the area we were going to detect was very wet and soggy. I switched the detector on, and there was stuff everywhere! Everywhere I looked I got a good signal, but just couldn't dig anything up. Then I realised he had given me a pair of steel tipped boots!

Did you explain to him what steel tipped boots mean to a metal detectorist, or just kick him between the legs with them to give him a 'visual' idea ??

Well to be honost with you, I only found out because he was giggling every time I stated to digg up an other "find". We had a good laugh about it,and thats how it goes. When we're in the field together I'm always ahead of him, and chuck all the rubbish I digg up in his "lane", so he's working twice as hard. Pay back I geuss the steel tipped boots.
