WW 2 Russian Helmet

Article about: Hi, Dom! That's the digit seemed to me strange. Although, perhaps this exclusion proves the rule.

The shell is absolutely original, I speak only of the liner and chinstrap .

I'm afraid we have an original ssh39 soviet helmet here with replaced liner and chinstrap.

I actually wonder what type of helmet the liner comes from. I have never seen this 6 tongue leather liner before. Which country did you buy the helmet from? As Dom say, the chinstrap is surely postwar. Maybe you can take some pics from under the liner. Just to see the attachment. Just curious here

My mistake. I didn't pay attention to the rivets, on the helmet. SSh-39 style for sure.

I'm not sure about shell. It's unusual form of digit in the hallmark stamp.

No definitely a war time shell, rivets are completely wrong for a postwar helmet. As for the liner, it could very well be a fake and I wouldn't be to surprised.

    Hello Mixer

if you refer to 2a, still stamped in the same style for helmets dated 39 / 40 and 41 .
For a normal size 2 the digit is effectively a little bit smaller and less form stylize .
