I do not personally like it, it does differ to most buckles that I have seen, most of these are made with a Imperial box but get other opinions, I do not really collect early buckles like this

The dragon is nothing like any I have ever seen on originals. they are much more detailed and in the Chinese style of a dragon but I am no expert on this type of buckle.
Hello,
looks like a dragon after a forest fire

Search dancing dragon and you'll find my thread on these. I don't like the style of this one.
Where is the catch on this buckle? How would you fasten it?

"Much that once was, is lost. For none now live who remember it."
Now, Kirby's buckle looks Great, but This one looks cartoony in comparison. I suspected the catch may have fallen off, is why I inquired. It only goes to the evident poor construction of this buckle, to have been put together so shoddily to actually Lose it's catch! Somehow, I rather doubt this buckle is genuine...

Hello all,
this buckle is very suspect and looks like an artificially aged recent one
The known originals of the so called "chinese" buckle are of the large imperial type, that is to say 50mm in heigth and with a completely different design of the dragon
The claws are brass soldered to a brass tube like all the imperial buckles made before 1915 and never of the steel crimped style as observed on the buckle shown on the present post, which is in my opinion a complete fantasy fake
Best regards, Hervé
