A great looking buckle. I would love to find a photo of one of these being worn. Everyone I have ever seen has been in unissued condition, so we may never know who they were produced for.

iI obtained two of these buckles in different veteran's stashes back in the 1960's. All examples I have ever encountered have been in unissued condition. I have always felt that these were an unauthorized buckle that was locally made but RZM regulations likely put a halt to their use before they ever were issued.

Could well have been Bob, for these it is the $1000,000 question, who made them and what were they used for, I really hope one day the truth come to light

    Hello Ben ,

it's made by Assmann . Look's the same Set up as a Landespolizei . Typical Assmann made ears and postsleeve and also catch .

Same as other early Assmann made nickel silver buckles .

Here a exemple to compare :

    Gau Essen

You can also take to compare a Assmann Postschutz buckle !
